(SIOUX CITY, IA) - Siouxland continues to see fewer doses of the H1N1 vaccine than expected. Siouxland District Health leaders told Sioux City councilmen they receive about three percent of all the vaccines that arrive in Iowa. So far, all of those doses have gone to local clinics. Leaders said 50,000 people in Woodbury County fall in the CDC's vaccine priority groups.
"If they do fit in this category, a lot of people have been taken care of at their physician's office, and also at the healthcare providers themselves, so, we will put the word out as soon as the vaccine comes in so we'll be having some public clinics," said District Health's Chuck Cipperly.
Siouxland District Health has a weekday hotline for more H1N1 information. The number is 712-234-3922.
