Nebraska Man in Jail After Five-Hour Standoff

A Coleridge, Nebraska, man is in jail after a more than five-hour standoff, following a domestic disturbance.

Cedar County received a call of a domestic disturbance involving a weapon at a residence near Coleridge.  A woman and young boy were able to flee to a nearby residence. The Nebraska state patrol swat team seized numerous weapons and drug paraphernalia from inside the house.

49-year-old Myron Dirks was taken to the Cedar County jail on charges of 1st degree domestic assault, 1st degree assault, terroristic threats and use of a fire arm to commit a felony.
