Newly elected board members will bring with them a wealth of experience from local leadership roles to their own perspective of the soybean industry. "We commend these farmer-leaders of their commitment of their time, energy and effort to help increase demand for Nebraska soybeans. We look forward to the new perspective these newly elected board members will bring to NSB and we will work hard at orienting them to all the important checkoff priorities," said Gregg Fujan from Weston, NE and chairman of the Nebraska Soybean Board.
Edward Lammers and Richard Bartek will be serving their first term on the Nebraska Soybean Board. Reelected to the board to serve an additional 3 year term is Greg Peters from DeWitt, NE. Nebraska Soybean Board directors can serve four, three year terms.
The nine-member farmer elected Nebraska Soybean Board collects and disburses the Nebraska share of funds generated by the one half of one percent times the net sales price per bushel soybean checkoff. Nebraska soybean checkoff funds are invested in domestic and foreign markets, including new uses for soybeans and soybean products.
