Members of the Lyon County Riverboat Foundation made their case for a new casino to the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission Thursday morning. At issue is whether or not to accept new applications for casinos in Iowa. Last month two studies by paid state consultants said the Lyon County proposal would draw from northwest Iowa and South Dakota. The casino would create 400 high paying jobs and contribute to the county's tax base. State leaders won't make any decisions until after a July 16th meeting in Johnston, Iowa.
