With Election Day just months away, community health clinics in South Dakota are encouraging people to vote, by getting them registered. All community health clinics in the state are involved in the campaign, spreading the word to patients who may also be unregistered voters. It's an effort new to healthcare facilities.
"Healthcare is a big issue in the election. It has always plays a role, but we're certainly hearing a lot about healthcare concerns and the cost of healthcare and the uninsured," says Mary Metz, CEO of the Elk Point Community Health Clinic.
The deadline to register for the June 3 primary is 15 days before the election.
