Doctors cut the ribbon on South Sioux City's first multi-care physicians group providing health-care to Hispanics in the area. And as reporter Mario Giraldo reports, the health-care center is already booking up appointments.
With a cut of a ribbon, South Sioux City officials celebrated the first Multi Care Physicians Group in South Sioux City.
"The Hispanic population is so underserved right now there's no Hispanic chiropractor here in town so what we want to tell the people is we are here and we're here to help you," said Dr. Sergio Rocafort of Multi Care Physicians Group.
The group, made of chiropractors, medical doctors, physical therapists, and massage therapists, is the only one of its kind in siouxland.
"We're the only multi clinic in all siouxland has all different provider types practicing together because when the patient comes in with any pain or numbness, need we're able to provide them one diagnosis," said Dr. Scott Sneller of Multi Care Physicians Group.
And more importantly these doctors say they'll provide a wide variety of healthcare to Hispanics in the area.
"It's becoming more and more important in the Sioux City area we have a large Latino population and I think there's not a significant physician's or professionals that are able to provide that care," said Dr. Garry Clark of Multi Care Physicians Group.
Dr. Sergio Rocafort says being Hispanic himself, he knows the struggles they go through.
"It's really hard because they open themselves and they can't explain how they feel," said Dr. Rocafort.
A feeling these health care providers say Siouxlanders won't have to worry about with them.
