(ORANGE CITY, IA) Orange City is preparing for the future by developing a new senior care campus. The Orange City Area Health System purchased 37 acres to develop over the next few years. The 83-bed nursing home will be just west of the Landsmeer Ridge senior living community on the north side of the city. It will offer a village-style care center for the aging Baby Boomer generation.
"There's going to be a whole lot more of us seniors around in the next 20 years and so, it's going to be a huge part of our economy and our healthcare in the United States and so I think you're going to see better, more of an amenity-type, more an a homier environment for our seniors," says Dan McCarty, Orange City Area Health System COO.
The estimated project cost is $14-16 million and is set to open in 2014.
